Abstract: Pregnant women who have mechanical heart valves need anticoagulant therapy. One must consider the danger of bleeding and embryopathy when deciding whether to use oral anticoagulants in comparison to the risk of valve thrombosis. Anticoagulation management is of the utmost importance when managing a pregnant lady who has a prosthetic heart valve. Due to a lack of prospective data, it is not possible to provide precise suggestions for every patient. Managing women of reproductive age with a mechanical heart valve is a significant problem for medical professionals. Warfarin is deemed a safe and efficient anticoagulant for patients with artificial heart valves. Treating a pregnant woman can be challenging, especially in the first trimester, because the medication can pass through the placenta and harm the fetus. Administering Heparin in the first trimester reduces the occurrence of embryopathy but raises maternal morbidity and death.
