Abstract: Background: Caesarean delivery is one of the most frequently performed obstetric operation, which is done to deliver a baby through an incision on the anterior abdominal wall and the uterus. Previous caesarean section has been found to be the commonest cause of increased caesarean section rate.
Material and Methodology: Study design: Retrospective study. Sample size: 576. Duration: 2 years. Site: Tertiary health care center. Observation and Result: The high incidence of repeat cesarean sections, primarily due to a history of previous cesarean deliveries, in modern obstetrics highlights the importance of careful monitoring and timely intervention during labor to reduce the need for emergency procedures and associated maternal morbidity. Study suggests proper family planning technique to have adequate inter-pregnancy interval and effectiveness of timely institutional delivery in preventing severe complications.
Conclusion: Thus, though the incidence of repeat cesarean sections have increased, they can be managed safely with appropriate resources and care, minimising the risk of serious maternal and fetal complications by well anticipation and timely prevention.
